Branson Wedding Association

3000 Green Mountain Dr., PMB 187,
Branson, MO   65616

In Branson” could be a new phrase for the Branson Wedding Association to add to the Dixie Cups song, “Going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married,” as the group sets its charter launch for Friday, May 1, at 10 a.m. at the All American Café, 239 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, in Branson.

Individuals and businesses interested in making Branson a more nationally recognized destination for weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries and providers of those services throughout the Ozarks are invited to the launch to learn more about the group, its goals and how to be involved.

“You don’t have to arrive in a limo or a tux, but come learn about our association and those businesses that can fill those needs. Wedding related businesses working together to build Branson into an even bigger and better wedding and honeymoon destination are invited to join us for our official launch and learn more about charter membership perks,” said Kathy Baltajy Smith, who, along with her husband, Dr. Dale Smith, has founded the new organization.

“Branson Wedding Association is a spin-off from meetings of the group sales and public relations departments of the Branson Chamber of Commerce,” said Lynn Berry, director of public relations for the Branson Chamber of Commerce. She has seen other parts of the country be very successful in the wedding destination industry and this association will provide more focus on that part of the tourism industry in the Branson area, she said.

Branson Wedding Association/Ozark Wedding Association’s website explains the goals and membership guidelines. “Your official source for weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries in Branson, Mo. We want to make your planning process easy, fun and stress free!” the site says. It has “information to help make your romantic occasion an event to remember, no matter what your budget or style.” The address is bransonweddingassociation.com.

“Those who represent facilities and other places where ceremonies and receptions can be held; vendors such as professional planners, florists, photographers, caterers, formal shops, musicians and transportation companies; lodging; vacation packages; recreation including shows, attractions, restaurants and special events are needed to make this association successful. All are invited to attend our launch event,” Kathy Baltajy Smith said.
