Branson, MO – Myer Hotels of Branson is pleased to announce that the City of Branson has recognized our organization with a Green Initiative Award. This is the first year that the City of Branson has given the award. Five local businesses were honored for their past and ongoing recycling and energy conservation efforts during the annual Arbor Day/Earth Day Celebration at Branson Landing.

The event was hosted by local celebrity Yakov Smirnoff and the award was presented by Mayor Raeanne Presley to the Myer family.

“At Myer Hotels, God’s environment has always been important to us. We take recycling seriously. Branson, MO – Myer Hotels of Branson is pleased to announce the Comfort Inn & Suites Branson Meadows, Comfort Inn at Thousand Hills and Comfort Inn West are the first three hotels in Branson, Missouri Certified Green by the Missouri Hotel & Lodging Association (MHLA). In addition, these three locations are included in the state of Missouri’s first five hotels Certified Green.

You Drink & Drive. You Lose.

The Hollister Police Department recently focused extra enforcement efforts on impaired driving laws July 3-5.
During the effort, law enforcement officers issued a total of 21 citations that includes 3 speeding tickets, 1 driving while intoxicated, 5 safety belt and 1 child restraint violation.

“Driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is never worth the risk of a tragedy.  “We’re working to keep our roads safer” said Chief Preston Schmidt. Driving while intoxicated remains one of the top causes of fatal motor vehicle crashes in Missouri.  In 2007, 243 people in Missouri were killed in more than 7,780 alcohol-related crashes.  Enforcement efforts like this one help to take impaired drivers off the road and make travel in Missouri safer.
