The Branson Arts Council monthly Art & Wine mixer will be held this Friday November 19, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant Winery located at 3125 Green Mountain Drive. The mixer will feature the work of Ozarks’ Legend, Rose O’Neill. Though O’Neill is best known for her kewpie dolls, her talents were much broader. Rose had extraordinary success as a full fledged illustrator for many popular magazines and books. Her drawings and paintings have been featured exhibitions in New York and Paris. Rose O’Neill’s legacy includes fifty-five hundred drawings, and numerous paintings both in oil and watercolor; she was a sculptor, suffragist, inventor, business woman, philosopher, poet, novelist, children’s book author, and even a musician.
The Rose O’Neill historical society will be on hand to talk about her work.
The Art/Wine mixer is free and open to the public from 5:30-7pm. Come join us for food and wine and a celebration of the Arts. For more information, call the BAC at 336-4255
