ANN COMPTON SHINES AT HONORING OUR MOTHERS
Fundraiser Honors Mothers Through the Caring People

Branson, MO. May 7, 2015 – Ann Compton shined brightly on the platform Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the annual Honoring Our Mothers…Applauding Remarkable Women dinner at Chateau on the Lake, speaking on behalf of the Caring People. The event raised $120,000 towards the mission of impacting the lives of Single Moms and their children. Mercy, Sight and Sound Theaters, and Silver Dollar City led the way as sponsors of the celebratory dinner.

Over 300 were in attendance to hear one of our nation’s top broadcast journalists as she shared stories from a remarkable career covering 7 presidencies. Ms.Compton did indeed pull back the curtain as she reminisced about walking up the path each day to work as a correspondent for ABC News.

Ann’s presentation, Up Close and Very Personal, had humor, insight and heartbreak as she shared her experiences during her 41 year career covering world changing events. Compton shared, “you might ask, what day changed world history? Certainly, June 12, 1987 when President Ronald Reagan proclaimed… “Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

The dinner also celebrated four remarkable volunteers for the Caring People. Champion of Compassion service awards were presented to Dianne Ely, Laura Kinne, Kathy Meyer and Donna Yoh. Founder, JoDee Herschend, and CEO Cindy Shorey of the Caring People were on hand to present the awards.

Next year’s dinner is set for April 28, 2016 and plans are underway to host another world class speaker. To schedule an interview with JoDee Herschend, Founder of the Caring People, contact Cindy Shorey, CEO at [email protected]. For more information visit thecaringpeople.org.
