BRANSON, MO – Experience Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library come to life at the “Whoadeo” on, Saturday, October 5th from 10:00AM to 1PM at Dixie Stampede in Branson. The free event is designed to celebrate the joy of reading among families, while children enjoy riding stick horses “rodeo style” in the Dixie Stampede performance arena.

“Whoadeo” will showcase 5 events including: Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Trail or Obstacle Course, Bucking Horse and Jumping. Children and adults will compete on a “stick horse” as they race around barrels, jump over obstacles or manage to not get “bucked” off their horse. Prizes will be awarded for top times and creative “bucking”. Dixie Stampede will provide stick horses for “Whoadeo” participants or children may bring their own.

“My Imagination Library “Whoadeo” is a fun event for all ages,” Dolly said. “There’s nothing better for a child’s mind than reading, so we hope that with each book, the child will dream more, learn more, care more and be more.”

Also featured during the “Whoadeo” at Dixie Stampede will be kids’ games, face painting, animal exhibitions, as well as giveaways from companies and public agencies that serve families.

All proceeds from Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show performance that evening, Saturday, October 5th will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

About Imagination Library
Imagination Library is a free book program for all pre-school age children in participating communities, including newborns, whose parent completes an official registration form. Once the registration is complete, the child receives a book each month by mail until age five. This book program serves every child in the participating community.

The Imagination Library began in Dolly’s native Sevier County in Tennessee in 1995 and has touched the lives every child and family in the community. The program is funded through the Dollywood Foundation by gifts from Dolly Parton, Dixie Stampede as well as other individuals and businesses.

“I hope that every family will experience the joy and wonder of their child’s imagination as they read about the world and learn its many surprises,” Dolly said.

Dixie Stampede is a proud sponsor of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Stone, Taney, Douglas, Jasper, Laclede, Webster and Greene Counties of Missouri. 29,082 books were provided in 2012 and 307,913 books have been provided to children in these counties since its inception. In Missouri, there are 33 Imagination Library affiliate communities with 11,165 children enrolled in the program.

Nationally, a total of 1,400 communities are partnered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to send out books monthly to preschool children participating in the program. 640,000 children are currently enrolled in the program. Since its inception in 2000, 46 million books have been provided to children enrolled in the program. In 2012, 7.65 million books were mailed.

Branson, Mo., July, 2013 –  “The Titanic violin played by the bandmaster Wallace Hartley of the RMS Titanic as the famed ocean liner slipped away will be on exclusive display in Branson, MO., Thursday, August 1 through August 15, 2013 at the Titanic Museum Attraction, announces John Joslyn –expedition leader of the first private exploration dive to Titanic and owner of the Titanic Museum Attractions in Branson and Pigeon Forge, TN.

“As of August first, the only place in the world anyone can see Titanic band leader Thomas Hartley’s iconic Titanic violin – before it goes up for auction in England – is at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Branson, Mo.   ‘This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all Titanic fans to become a witness to history,’ Joslyn says.

“’I’ve explored Titanic at the bottom of the sea, documented my discoveries for television and even built two giant museum attractions in tribute to this iconic ship, but when I came face-to-face with the actual violin Hartley had played that cold April night, the whole Titanic experience came into focus, bringing an emotional and melancholy close to a catastrophic chapter in the Titanic story.  I feel certain our guests passengers will feel the same,’ Joslyn adds.”
