MoDOT is performing its second 24 hour closing of the Kimberling City Bridge this week.

From 7 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, both lanes of the bridge will be closed to allow contractor crews to continue with repairs to the overhead steel truss structure on the bridge.

During the closing no traffic will be allowed across the bridge. Drivers will have to use Route 86, Route 65, Route 76, Route 248 and other state routes in the area to get around the bridge closing.

The bridge closing will be postponed to begin in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 24th, or the week between Christmas and New Year’s if rain or snow prevents the closing.

MoDOT reports there will be at least two more 24 hour closings of the bridge prior to its completion on Memorial Day in May 2016.
