POINT LOOKOUT, MO.<\/strong> \u2014 The College of the Ozarks Concert Band, directed by Dr. Kevin Powers, will perform a concert on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016<\/span>, at 3 p.m.<\/span> in the Royal Oak Forum at The Keeter Center.<\/p>\n The concert is FREE and open to the public.<\/p>\n \u201cCome and spend a fun afternoon with the College of the Ozarks Concert Band,\u201d Powers said. \u201cWe will be playing a wide variety of festive music that will put you in the Christmas spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n PROGRAM:<\/p>\n The concert band will present a medley of some of the best loved Christmas carols, including \u201cJoy to the World,\u201d \u201cIt Came upon a Midnight<\/span> Clear,\u201d \u201cChristmas is Coming,\u201d and \u201cO Come All Ye Faithful.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This arrangement for concert band represents a classic Christmas piece.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n First appearing in theaters in 1956, audiences now celebrate the 60th<\/sup> anniversary of this timeless classic. The concert band will perform a collection of favorite tunes from this Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, including \u201cSomething Wonderful,\u201d \u201cI Whistle a Happy Tune,\u201d \u201cI Have Dreamed,\u201d \u201cThe March of the Siamese Children,\u201d \u201cGetting to Know You,\u201d and \u201cShall We Dance?\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This fun, musical composition represents a race downhill on an out of control toboggan.<\/p>\n This is a beautiful and lush rendition of \u201cGreensleeves\u201d and \u201cWe Three Kings.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Several different styles of music are incorporated into this Christmas work, including swing and funk.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n\n
