Titanic, The World’s Largest Museum Attraction, is introducing a new gallery which pays tribute to director James Cameron’s 1998 Academy Award Winning blockbuster motion picture Titanic. This one-of-a-kind exhibit includes behind the scenes photographs, movie props, costumes and jewelry, including 215 diamonds and a 155 carat Sapphire, all of which were used in the film.

Towering 100 feet above street level, Titanic is certainly the most visible attraction in Branson! Beautifully displayed within this uniquely designed structure are more than 400 priceless artifacts and treasures from the unsinkable RMS Titanic and the pre-World War I era of King Edward. Feel the power and the poignancy as you walk the Grand Staircase and visit a First-class stateroom. Tragically, it was during her maiden voyage that Titanic struck an iceberg and sank two hours and forty minutes later on April 15, 1912. More than 1500 souls were lost on that fateful night that is lovingly and reverently commemorated in this world-class, not to be missed attraction.

BRANSON, Mo., ― Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa and Convention Center today welcomes back Doug Knopp as Executive Chef of Branson, Missouri’s only AAA Four-Diamond resort. Knopp previously held the position from 1999 to 2000.

Knopp’s career spans 20 years leading the culinary teams of AAA Four- and Five-Diamond properties, including 11 years at the Four Seasons Hotels in Toronto, Houston, Vancouver, and on Nevis Island in the Caribbean. Knopp’s work has been featured in Southern Living magazine and in Hemispheres, United’s in-flight magazine.

During his tenure as executive chef at the University of Virginia’s Boar’s Head Inn, the AAA Four-Diamond property received the Virginia Wine Restaurant of the Year Award, along with several awards and distinctions from Wine Spectator magazine.

In 2001, Knopp became the opening executive chef for the Westin St. Louis, a $75 million, 255-room luxury hotel. During his four-year term at the Westin, the hotel received AAA’s Four-Diamond Award both years.

Stephen Marshall, vice president and general manager of the 301-room Chateau on Table Rock Lake, said he is delighted about Knopp’s return. “His commitment to providing outstanding quality and service will ensure that guests of the Chateau continue to receive world-class gourmet dining and convention banquet services,” Marshall said.

The Chateau, under Knopp’s culinary leadership in 2000, hosted a Miss USA Pageant VVVIP stationed dinner for 2,200 attendees including Donald Trump, pageant contestants, judges, and dignified guests.

“The Miss USA event at the Chateau is by far my most memorable career experience,” Knopp said. “I’m looking forward to hosting many other large-scale events such as this at the Chateau in the coming years.”

The originator of the Chateau’s Vintner Dinner Series and the Chef’s Table cooking demonstrations, Knopp said he plans to continue hosting intimate and interactive events as well, to give guests the opportunity to sample fine wines and learn gourmet-cooking techniques.

Knopp began his duties at the Chateau on April 21, 2008 and will oversee a culinary team of 30 for banquets and at the Chateau’s five restaurants and lounges, including the 150-seat Chateau Grille, recipient of Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence.

BRANSON, Mo., April 18, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — The largest new ride in the Ozarks debuted with a big splash when Celebration City, Branson, Missouri’s Biggest Nighttime Attraction, opened Roaring Falls, a new multi-million dollar water adventure ride. Featuring a 5-story, 55-degree angle drop for an enormous splash finale, Roaring Falls did not disappoint guests looking for the spectacular splash when the park opened for the season April 18. Huge sheets of water shot more than 60 feet in the air as riders made the final plunge, soaking both riders and nearby viewers.

“It’s an incredible splash — one you really have to see to believe,” said Celebration City General Manager John Fitzgibbons. “With an Amazon theme, complete with misty fog and jungle sound effects, the adventure takes riders on a powerful river current carrying the boats to the top of a massive waterfall — the legendary Roaring Falls! The current then sends riders ‘over the edge’ for a final 50-foot plummet,” Fitzgibbons said, adding that Roaring Falls is the biggest expansion since the park opened in 2003.

Dubbed “The Wildest New Adventure in the Ozarks, by Day and by Night,” Roaring Falls is one of several 2008 additions to the amusement park. New for summer, JUMP! The Ultimate Dog Show features world-famous Frisbee-catching dogs, and Extreme Parrots presents colorful, exotic birds that sing, fly and talk.

Celebration City features more than 30 rides and attractions, including the original 8-story classic wooden coaster, Ozark WildCat. The night’s finale is the spectacular $3 million nighttime special effects show, Ignite the Night, with pyrotechnics, water cannons, gigantic video projections, and special effects.

Celebration City is part of the Silver Dollar City Attractions in Branson, offering the largest variety of entertainment, rides and attractions in America’s Heartland. Celebration City is open 3-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with daily operations beginning May 23.
