BRANSON, Mo. – Hundreds of Taney County youth will benefit from the $1,000 donation presented on Tuesday to the not-for-profit Christian Action Ministries through the CenturyTel Clarke M. Williams Charitable Foundation. The funds will support the Clothe-A-Child Program.

This is the 23rd year that CAM has sponsored the Clothe-A-Child program. It is part of the Taney County School Readiness Fair, a cooperative effort of CAM, Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation and the Salvation Army. Hundreds of children in need will receive a new outfit for school, improving self-esteem and enabling greater academic success.

“The Charitable Foundation was established by CenturyTel based on the belief that companies have an obligation to improve the quality of life where they do business,” said Pamela Anderson, Marketing Communication Manager for South Missouri.

Following the example set by Williams, the company’s founder, the foundation contributes to projects that improve the well-being of people in need. The projects range from substance abuse prevention to disaster relief and technological development. This year, the foundation will award approximately $124,000.

The CenturyTel Experience Center is a drop-off point Christian Action Ministries’ “Under Cover Program,” providing new socks and underwear for Taney County school-aged children. For more information on the program, call Christian Action Ministries at 334-1157 or visit www.ChristianActionMinistries.org.

Today Gift of Hope announced their annual fundraiser, Celebrate A1merica, will be canceled for 2009. Celebrate America was to be held at Shad1ow Rock Park on July 25, but due to the high water levels planning was becoming very difficult. Currently there is very little room left for parking, attendees and the fireworks display.  “We will not sacrifice the quality of the event and currently the water levels are leaving less and less space to allow us to operate as planned,”

Anthony Collier, President of the Board of Directors, stated. “We are disappointed that we have to cancel such an enjoyable event, but feel it is in the best interest of Gift of Hope and the Forsyth community.”  Even with the cancellation of a fundraising event, Gift of Hope must be able to continue its efforts to assist those in the community. Mr. and Mrs. Collier will be making a personal donation to Gift of Hope to try to compensate for the loss of funds that Celebrate America would have created for the charity, and hopes that other residents of Taney County will be generous in their support as well.

The next scheduled fundraising event for Gift of Hope is their annual Bowl-A-Thon, which will take place in October.  For more information about Gift of Hope and their upcoming events, please visit www.giftofhopeinc.org

“It seems as if kids are everywhere!” will be the word around Branson as young entertainers arrive the second week in July for American Kids Inc. National Finals. In addition to performing in the national membership talent competition and the top 25 AllStar Show at the Baldknobbers Theater, they will also be found around town on various other stages.

The young performers, members of the nation’s only little league of entertainers, have been preparing since January and July 13-17 their efforts will culminate at nationals. They will be competing for more than $9,000 in cash and prizes and the title of Performer of the Year at the American Kids Inc. 2009 National Finals and performing around town in outdoor concerts and pre-shows.

“American Kids Inc. has been showcasing the nation’s talented young performers for 27 years and holding national finals in Branson annually for more than a decade. The support this community has given us is appreciated. This year our young performers will have the opportunity to share their talent gifts in pre-shows and outdoor stages to the tune of more than 150 acts during the week of nationals,” said Dr. Dale Smith, founder of the non-profit group, based in Branson and known as the nation’s only little league of entertainers.

Many American Kids national finalists will be showcased on outdoor stages throughout the week. On July 12, 13 and 18, young performers will be at the Grand Village 2-3 p.m. July 12; 4-5 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. July 13; and 11 a.m.-noon and 5-6 p.m. July 18. On July 14 and 16, they will be performing at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop on the dock at Branson Landing 1:30-3:30 p.m. both days.

American Kids will be featured in pre-shows on July 15 at Hamner Barber Variety Theatre and on July 16 at the Baldknobbers Theatre. Pre-shows are expected to begin about 7:30 p.m.

The entertainer judged as the top performer in the gospel category will be invited to perform on July 19 at the 10 a.m. Grand Old Gospel Hour at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater.

Kids presenting some 250 acts will compete in the membership talent contest judged by an impressive slate of national and celebrity judges. Competition begins at 9 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday with an awards ceremony on Friday morning. Wednesday has been dedicated to performance workshops rather than competition.

The competition will conclude with the AllStar Show at 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, where 25 of the top acts will be showcased. One winner will be selected as Performer of the Year and receive a $1,500 cash prize and the opportunity to guest star on the Penny Gilley Show on RFD TV. Tickets to the show are $10 and available at the door.

What started out as a few cabins in the woods has now grown into a popular resort development.

Grand Crowne Resorts, a Branson company with a history of developing resort facilities in Branson, MO, announced today that their newest venture, The Condos at Table Rock Lake, is ready for occupancy. This 4 story hi-rise of condominium complex, located on India Point Road, just south of Silver Dollar City, has Table Rock Lake views from every deck. This new take on the Lodge experience, wrapped in a condominium layout, has become a sought-after indulgence.

“We have been taking reservations for months for these new units”, said Jason Conway, Director of Luxury Rentals for Grand Crowne Resorts. “It’s such a good feeling knowing that our condominiums, as well as our Lodges at Table Rock Lake, are enjoyed by so many families.” The property includes over 30 cabin-style Lodges on 97 Ozark acres, with 2 to 6 bedroom units that can accommodate any sized party lending towards groups or family reunions. “We had a family last week from Minnesota that stayed a whole week, telling us that they had always gone to the Great Lakes for their family vacation, but were now going to change that to Branson”, Conway commented.

Crowne View Estates and The Condos and Lodges at Table Rock Lake represent phase one of a master planned community. Phase two plans include a new route from Crowne View Estates to Highway 265 to alleviate congestion, an indoor water park and construction of additional Lodges and Condominiums. The new route will become an asset to this property, as well as to all residents and businesses on Indian Point Road.

“We are immensely pleased by the outstanding results of our initial opening for The Lodges at Crowne View Estates,” commented CJ Perme, Owner/Developer of Grand Crowne Resorts and Crowne View Estates. “Given Grand Crowne Resorts’ commitment to unparalleled standards in both Branson real estate and vacation ownership, Crowne View Estates is certain to be an exquisite representation of the residential resort concept”.
