About the Red Hats
What is the Red Hat Society? Queen Mother, Sue Ellen Cooper said it best, “The Red Hat Society began as a result of a few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor and elan. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life, and since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.”

About Dixie Stampede
Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede is a unique dinner and show experience set in an 35,000-square-foot arena featuring 32 magnificent horses, a stampede of Longhorn steer, trick riders, beautiful music, and audience participation, all showcased in a friendly rivalry between North and South, complemented by a fabulous four-course feast.

Featured at this year’s Dixie Stampede, a new musical-comedy celebration, “Gold Rush Jubilee”, full of twists and surprises sure to keep audiences laughing!

Dixie Stampede Dinner Attractions operate in three popular vacation destinations: Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Branson, Missouri. For more information, show times and ticket prices, call 1-800-520-5544 or visit www.dixiestampede.com.

Andy Williams Moon River Grill is hosting a fundraiser to help local animal charities. All summer kids eat for $1 which will be donated to the Killuminati Foundation – a local dog rescue, and SNAP – a group offering low cost spay and neuter procedures.

Andy Williams and his wife Debbie have rescued dogs of their own and have helped save many others by finding their forever families. Saving lives through adopting death row dogs and the importance of spaying/neutering pets are significant causes the Williams want to spotlight.

The amount of pets that are not spayed or neutered in our area is extremely high and many estimate that the average number of pets euthanized yearly in each state is around 300,000. Sterilized pets tend to live an average of 2 to 3 years longer than unsterilized pets. Pets that are spayed or neutered also have less risk of cancer, diseases and are less likely to roam and in turn less likely to be injured in a fight or get hit by vehicles as well as keeping numbers of unplanned litters down. Half of the animals sitting in an animal shelter at any given time will be adopted, while the other half will be killed.

By eating at the Moon River Grill this summer, you can help the Killuminati Foundation and SNAP save more lives now through Labor Day weekend.

For more information about the Killuminati Foundation, contact Jeanna Callahan at [email protected] or go to www.thekilluminatifoundation.org. For more information about SNAP,
visit www.snap123.org or call 417-823-SNAP.

Following the 50-year celebration of the” live music show capital” last year, Branson still has a lot to sing about with even more celebrations this year including the 50th birthday of the award-winning Silver Dollar City theme park and the 50th year of the Shepherd of the Hills outdoor drama.

And sing about it, they do. The song, Listen to the Music, recorded by the Doobie Brothers in 1972, has become the theme song for Branson and many will recognize this familiar tune as the music playing behind the Branson TV commercials, currently seen on national cable. To promote the variety and live music bonanza one can find in Branson, from The Legend of Kung Fu, with a cast of over 50 performers, to Neal McCoy and Buck Trent at the new Clay Cooper Theatre, Joseph Hall in “A Tribute to Elvis,” and the award-winning vocal band The Cat’s Pajamas and so much more, Branson Landing, the 95-acre retail entertainment destination with over 100 shops and restaurants, decided to add a new show to their $7.5 million fountain spectacular.

Now visitors to the Branson Landing will see and hear the Doobie Brother’s rendition of Listen to the Music, choreographed to water, fire, light and music. Marc Williams, Principal of HCW, LLC, the developer of Branson Landing, stated, “I was approached by Tammy Scholten, Director of Marketing/Entertainment for the Branson Landing, about using the Doobie Brothers “Listen to the Music” as the next new fountain show and after much discussion, we all agreed that this song would be a great way to welcome guests to Branson and Branson Landing, as well as tie in with the recognizable music theme associated with Branson and all that the city has to offer.”

And now, added to the fountain show lineup, guests can also “Listen to the Music” at Branson Landing. From all of us in Branson, we invite everyone to take the time to celebrate with your family and friends this year in Branson.

Don Williams “Un-Retires” for
Major Show in Branson

Don Williams, with hits including Good Ole Boys Like Me, I Believe In You, Love Is On A Roll, Some Broken Hearts Never Mend and Tulsa Time, has always had a knack for finding songs that speak directly to people’s hearts. All together he has 17 – #1 and 42 – Top 10 hits.

Such a career has made Don Williams a 2010 inductee to The Country Music Hall of Fame. That honor, accompanied by an overwhelming demand by fans around the world, has prompted Williams to come out of retirement for a few select concerts this fall. One of those very special shows will be at Tri-Lakes Center in Branson on Saturday October 9 at 7:00pm.

When he retired four years ago Williams had no plans to take the stage again. It was time to enjoy the fruits of his labor, and when he felt like it he would still record new material. That changed this year with the announcement that Williams would be entering the Country Music Hall of Fame. His fans kept asking for the opportunity to hear his amazing voice live on stage one more time. As an artist who always appreciated the tremendous support of his fans, Williams decided to perform a handful of shows this fall to say “thank you” for his incredible career.

More information about this historic Branson show on Saturday October 9 at Tri-Lakes Center is available at www.upcloseconcerts.com. Tickets are on sale at the Tri-Lakes Center box office or by calling (417) 336-0219.
