BRANSON TEA PARTY – BRANSON, MISSOURI
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 21, 2009

Citizens of Branson, Missouri, popularly known as the Live Entertainment Capital of America, are singing out to the American People – “Come, make a stand!”

For over two centuries, America has held out the incredible promise of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to all her citizens. America shines as the land of opportunity and individual freedom, but our freedoms are being cleverly stolen – eroded by an elected Government that has lost its way. We say it’s time for the REAL America to stand up, stand tall, and stand firm.

Want to make your voice heard? On Saturday, November 21, 2009, The Branson Tea Party Coalition will host a peaceful Constitutional Rally that will ring out “America First!”  Join us at 11 a.m. for a one-hour roadside demonstration which will be held on the Highway 76 Strip in the area stretching from The Apple Tree Mall all the way to Fall Creek Road. You are encouraged to bring your signs with messages of your concerns regarding the outrageous and questionable actions of our elected leaders. (Note: keep the messages civil, sincere, and appropriate for public viewing.) The roadside demonstration will be followed by a Speakers’ Forum/Tea Party Rally from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Join us for this inspiring event at AREA 57 next to the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theatre, located at 1600 W. Hwy 76. Branson, MO.

We are echoing the fervent calls for liberty made by Paul Revere, John Adams and Patrick Henry over 230 years ago. It is time for all Americans to remind not only our government officials, but our citizens as well, that we must work together to restore America to its original constitutional foundation.

We must put aside our differences and join forces as our country is now in the crosshairs of a full-out assault on our constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms as citizens of the greatest country on earth!

So let your voices be heard at The Branson Tea Party on Saturday, November 21, 2009. This is a non-partisan event; please join us and make a stand if you believe in America the Free! Sing out: America First!
For more information about this important event, contact Eric Farris – 417-334-7278 or by email: [email protected]

Branson, MO – Myer Hotels in partnership with Girl Scout Troop #244 of Branson recycled 1,632 telephone directories from each of the 5 Myer Hotel properties. As part of this effort a total of 47,000 books were collected by the entire Southwest Missouri Girl Scout Council of Dogwood Trails, Inc. This effort helped raise funds for the Girl Scouts for each telephone book that they collected to be recycled.

“We offer our customers numerous phone books and this was a great way to recycle the olds ones and help protect the environment and at the same time raise funds for Girl Scouts. It’s a great win-win for the community,” stated Gail Myer, Vice President of Operations.

Troop #244 Co-Leader Lauree Hanson stated, “The Myer hotels staff was all very accommodating and we truly appreciate it.”

The phone books will be recycled by the Nestlé Purina® PetCare Company into Yesterday’s News® brand products.

Branson Environmental Specialist Debbie Redford said recycling old phone books can make a big difference when it comes to the environment. For every ton of phone books recycled, 17 trees are saved along with 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space. For a visual image, a ton of phone books stacked on top of each other would be 120 feet high.

“We would encourage other hotels across the country to recycle their phone books on an annual basis,” stated Chris Myer, VP of Marketing for Myer Hotels. “This is just one item of many that we do at Myer Hotels to help protect the environment.”

Other items that Myer Hotels does to help protect the environment include a customer led sheet change program, a customer led towel reuse program, low flow shower heads and aerators, recycling plastic buckets through reuse by the Gift of Green tree planting program.

Wherever possible, Myer Hotels also uses lower wattage fluorescent lights instead of incandescent lighting and they have two properties with energy management systems on HVAC systems and will install the third this coming winter.
