Join the relief effort for Joplin tornado victims
Choose from a number of ways to reach out to our
Missouri neighbors and businesses

Following the devastating storms in southwest Missouri on Sunday evening, your immediate action is requested to assist in the Joplin recovery efforts. Many members of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry have already contributed to this recovery, but vital resources are still in need. Donate money, items or your time through a variety of organizations that are on the ground serving in the Joplin area.

Monetary Donations
Joplin-native Sen. Ron Richard is encouraging Missouri businesses that are looking to help to call the donation desk at the State Emergency Management Agency command center in Joplin at 573.526.9364. The line is being used to coordinate large shipments of supplies and monetary donations from individual and corporate donors.

You can help immediately by texting the word “Redcross” to 90999 or by donating online on the American Red Cross website by clicking here. Donations will go toward the purchase of medical supplies, food and other basic necessities that families are in desperate need of right now.

Recovery Items
A number of items are also in demand, specifically bottled water, non-perishable food, can openers, toiletries, clothing (please have boxed and labeled), work gloves, and construction-grade trash bags. To locate a fundraiser near you, please visit the Joplin, Mo.,Tornado Recovery Facebook page.

Blood Donations
The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks has issued a Code Red Alert for Type “O Negative” blood. Please consider making a blood donation at a center near you, if you are able.

Volunteer Your Time
Officials are asking for volunteers with medical skills to register at the Show-Me Response website or by calling 417-832-9500. All others are asked to wait 3 to 5 days to sign up by calling 800.427.4626 or 211.
If you have relatives or friends in the Joplin area that you have not been able to contact, please visit the Red Cross’s Safe and Well registry. Authorities are asking that you keep the phone lines clear by using text messaging and social networks on the Internet.

As most are aware, our friends and neighbors in Joplin, located about 100 miles from Branson, were devastated by a Category F5 Tornado on Sunday May 22. Although the horrific storms did not affect the Branson area physically, the impact of what has happened to our friends and neighbors in Joplin is heavy on our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

In addition, however, they need assistance and help in rebuilding their community and recovering their personal lives from the total devastation they have faced. The information on this page is intended to provide guidance on how you can assist in that effort in a manner that will get the most help to those that need it as quickly as possible.

BRANSON TEA PARTY – BRANSON, MISSOURI
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 21, 2009

Citizens of Branson, Missouri, popularly known as the Live Entertainment Capital of America, are singing out to the American People – “Come, make a stand!”

For over two centuries, America has held out the incredible promise of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to all her citizens. America shines as the land of opportunity and individual freedom, but our freedoms are being cleverly stolen – eroded by an elected Government that has lost its way. We say it’s time for the REAL America to stand up, stand tall, and stand firm.

Want to make your voice heard? On Saturday, November 21, 2009, The Branson Tea Party Coalition will host a peaceful Constitutional Rally that will ring out “America First!”  Join us at 11 a.m. for a one-hour roadside demonstration which will be held on the Highway 76 Strip in the area stretching from The Apple Tree Mall all the way to Fall Creek Road. You are encouraged to bring your signs with messages of your concerns regarding the outrageous and questionable actions of our elected leaders. (Note: keep the messages civil, sincere, and appropriate for public viewing.) The roadside demonstration will be followed by a Speakers’ Forum/Tea Party Rally from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Join us for this inspiring event at AREA 57 next to the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theatre, located at 1600 W. Hwy 76. Branson, MO.

We are echoing the fervent calls for liberty made by Paul Revere, John Adams and Patrick Henry over 230 years ago. It is time for all Americans to remind not only our government officials, but our citizens as well, that we must work together to restore America to its original constitutional foundation.

We must put aside our differences and join forces as our country is now in the crosshairs of a full-out assault on our constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms as citizens of the greatest country on earth!

So let your voices be heard at The Branson Tea Party on Saturday, November 21, 2009. This is a non-partisan event; please join us and make a stand if you believe in America the Free! Sing out: America First!
For more information about this important event, contact Eric Farris – 417-334-7278 or by email: [email protected]
