MWSA Book Launch and Author Reception

The Military Writers Society of America authors will launch several new titles at the Book Launch on Tuesday, November 6, at 9 am at the Celebration City Theater in Vendor Village.

“Submarine Stories of WWII” by Mary Nida Smith will feature will Melvin Smith who will sign copies of the book.

“Chum Water” by Hodge Wood tells the story of his paralysis in an auto accident and his years of recovery.

You are also invited to an Authors’ Reception from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Tuesday November 6 at the Celebration City Theater. Please come and meet authors from across the United States.

Bill Medley, Paul Revere and Bob Leftridge Honor Entertainers.

The Branson Entertainment Hall of Fame, a non profit attraction, located in the Branson Mall, 2206 West Highway 76, announces the 2007 Inaugural Induction Sunday, November 4th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Branson Hall of Fame Theatre.

The talented Bob Leftridge, Baldknobbers’ emcee, vocalist and local celebrity will be master of ceremonies; while the equally gifted Bill Medley and Paul Revere of Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theatre will serve as award presenters. Expect toe-tapping entertainment by the Branson Brothers at this historical event, along with heartwarming video memories and more. A special reception and Hall of Fame unveiling will follow the induction ceremony.

The Branson Entertainment Hall of Fame celebrates Branson’s entertainment history and recognizes those who have had a significant impact on the Branson entertainment industry. Over 70 nomination were accepted from the public through May 4th, 2007.

The Branson Entertainment Hall of Fame board of Directors is the sole voting body and bases their decisions on the significance of contribution to Branson’s entertainment industry and the quality of supporting documentation. The Inaugural Induction will feature 16 awards; including a special recurring Harold Bell Wright award.

The awards ceremony is open to the public but seating is limited. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the show. You are invited to the launch of the “Sunchon Tunnel Massacre Survivors” book on Tuesday, November 6 at 9 am at the Celebration City Theater in Vendor Village.

In October 1950 nearly 400 American prisoners were marched from Taejon, South Korea to Pyongyang, North Korea. There they were put on a train. At Sunchon the train pulled into a tunnel. By this time there were about 250 men. Over 100 were taken out in groups and executed.

Six of the eight living survivors will sign copies of their book.
