In an evening honoring the best Advertising in the Ozarks, Branson-based Production Company, jackson+appleton, won multiple honors for their video and commercial work at the 35th Annual American Advertising Awards in Springfield, Missouri, on March 1, 2014.

Annually, the American Advertising Federation conducts the world’s largest advertising competition through its 200 member advertising clubs. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation of the Ozarks, the ADDY Awards honor excellence in advertising and cultivate the highest creative standard in the industry. The local awards are entered and attended by Advertising Agencies, Television Stations and Production Companies.

Thirteen proved “lucky” for jackson+appleton who won a record 5 GOLD ADDY Awards and 8 SILVER ADDY Awards. Their Clients honored include College of the Ozarks, CoxHealth Branson, IMAX Entertainment Complex and The Butterfly Palace, The Keeter Center, School of the Ozarks, White River Valley Electric Company and Xtreme Racing.

The Keeter Center shined with 3 GOLD ADDY nods. “The Keeter Experience” took home a GOLD ADDY for both Digital Advertising Internet Commercial and Cinematography. A promotional video featuring their wedding services, “Happily Ever After,” also snagged a GOLD ADDY for Digital Advertising Branded Content.

A short feature about how School of the Ozarks students purchased a Track Chair for a wounded Iraq Veteran was honored with a GOLD ADDY in the Public Service Audio/ Visual Presentation Category.

Working with The Nicholson Agency, jackson+appleton shared a GOLD ADDY for an animated commercial for Corporate Business Systems in the Local Commercial division.

A branded documentary for White River Valley Electric Cooperative was a double winner for the evening. Depicting the cooperative’s struggle with pending EPA regulations, “The War on Coal” won SILVER ADDY Awards in both the Digital Advertising Webisode and Cinematography categories.

A commercial for College of the Ozarks’ “Four Star Country Boy” won a SILVER ADDY in the Advertising for the Arts Category.

“Branson Butterfly Escape,” a commercial featuring a joint venture with the IMAX Entertainment Complex and The Butterfly Palace took a SILVER Addy in the Local Commercial Category. Also in the Local Commercial Category, a commercial for CoxHealth Branson, “Together….the Best,” was awarded a SILVER ADDY.

Multiple videos produced with The Bob Nichols Company for Xtreme Racing Center were honored. Xtreme Racing was awarded three SILVER ADDYs in the Audio/ Visual Sales Presentation, Local Commercial and Digital Advertising Branded Content divisions.

Branson, Mo., February 25, 2014 – Announcing a new non-profit in the Branson, Tri-Lakes area. Established in November 2013, the Tri-Lakes Sertoma Clubs mission is to promote hearing health in the local Tri-Lakes area. There are 800+ people in this area who are affected by hearing loss. Through local club events and fundraisers, the Tri-Lakes Sertoma Club intends to raise money for this mission, as well as sponsor community projects to promote other local community needs.

The Tri-Lakes Sertoma elected president, Cherri Cahow is a speech and language Pathologist, who has lived in Branson, Mo. for 15 years. She has experience in skilled nursing rehab, home health, and is currently a Speech and Language Therapist working for the Branson School District. Cherri says, ÒThe reason I joined Tri-Lakes Sertoma was because it is a charity dear to my heart. I have made a career out of helping individuals overcome communication disorders. “

Sertoma is an acronym for SERvice TO MAnkind. The shared mission of Sertoma’s national organization is promoting “hearing health.” Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, Sertoma is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit civic organization with community-minded members in service clubs across the US and Canada.

Every year Sertoma clubs raise more than $20 million for local community service projects. Through these projects, as well as grants and scholarships, Sertoma clubs return those funds to their respective communities – and they have lots of fun doing it while building life-long friendships.

Tri-Lakes Sertoma is excited to contribute to the Tri-Lakes community and they are currently looking for new members to help carry out their mission. If you are interested in finding out more about their planned service events and programs, please come to their next meeting. It will be held at Old Chicago at the Branson Landing on Monday, March 10, 2104 at 5:30 pm.
