COSIFE Hosts “Prelude to EntreLeadership”  As Pre-Event To Convo Featuring Mr. Dave Ramsey

College of the Ozarks Students in Free Enterprise (COSIFE) will host “Prelude to EntreLeadership,” a panel discussion on entrepreneurship and servant leadership featuring Branson/Hollister Community Bank President of Arvest Greg Baker, Regional Frito Lay Zone Sales Leader Ken Jodock, founder/CEO of Kerusso, Inc., Vic Kennett, and Executive Director of Christian Healthcare Ministries Reverend Howard Russell. Terry Bowen, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Kerusso, will serve as the panel moderator.

COSIFE will welcome SIFE teams from Crowder College, Ozarks Technical Community College, Evangel University and Southwest Baptist University to attend “Prelude to EntreLeadership,” which will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 3-4:15 p.m. in The Keeter Center’s Royal Oak Forum. The public also is invited to attend this free event; tickets are not required.

“Prelude to EntreLeadership” will serve as a pre-event to the October 4, Community Convocation “EntreLeadership” featuring Christian financial advisor/author Mr. Dave Ramsey. COSIFE has taken a leadership role in promoting financial stewardship and leadership education.

“COSIFE is providing financial literacy to students to help them obtain the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions regarding money matters,” said COSIFE Advisor Rachel Mullinax.

Beginning last year, the COSIFE helped launch a financial stewardship course for College of the Ozarks students. Mr. Ramsey designed the college curriculum and C of O Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice David Vogt and his wife Abbey teach the course on campus. Through the generosity and support of Christian Healthcare Ministries, a total of 250 C of O students will have taken this Dave Ramsey college curriculum course by the semester’s end.

“The Vogts and COSIFE are dedicated to providing these courses because students today have a real hunger for financial education,” said Mullinax.

For more information on “Prelude to EntreLeadership,” please contact COSIFE at (417) 690-2291.

Churches Support CAM with Food Drive

September 28, 2011… On Saturday October 1st, a number of local churches are coming together to support the Christian Action Ministries’ food pantries in Branson and Forsyth.  According to CAM board member Larry Johnson, “This is a great way to start the Fall season by helping CAM to stock up our shelves at the pantries.  CAM was founded by 11 churches over a quarter century ago and the continued support from area churches is critical to our longevity in serving those in need.”

Donation stations in Branson and Hollister will be set up at the following grocery stores:

Apple Market, manned by Branson Nazarene Church.

Country Mart (North) by Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.

Country Mart (South) by Branson Christian Church.

Harter House by Peace Lutheran Church.

Sun Fest by Branson United Methodist Church.

Additionally, there will be a donation station at the Forsyth Sav-a-Lot with volunteers from the Lutheran, Calvary Full Gospel, Presbyterian, and Methodist churches in Forsyth.

Branson’s WalMart Super Center will be the location of a donation station later in the month on October 29th.

CAM is currently serving an average of over 800 families per month through their two pantries, as well as distributing another 140 deliveries of food to outlying areas on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone wishing more information, can call CAM at 334-1157 or visit the CAM website at www.christianactionministries.org.

Dutton Customer Appreciation Day – September 30, 2011

Branson, MO…The Dutton Family is holding a Customer Appreciation Day on Friday, September 30th to celebrate their fans as part of their 20th Anniversary Show celebration.

According to marketing manager Judith Dutton, “This is much more than the typical appreciation show! Festivities begin in front of the theater at 6:30 PM with refreshments at our “Dutton Party in the Parking Lot”. The Dutton’s 20th Anniversary Show at 8 PM, complete with door prizes that include vacation packages for the Dutton Inn, gift certificates for Abby’s Tourist Trap, tickets for The Duttons and George Dyer shows, and much more.”

Over the past 20 years, the Dutton fame has spread across the world and the family has built an entertainment complex in Branson with their Dutton Family Theater, the Dutton Inn, and Abby’s Tourist Trap. Additionally, the Dutton Family Theater #2 was opened this past year in Mesa, Arizona for winter performances. In 2007, the Duttons gained even greater national acclaim as they made it into the Top 10 finalists on America’s Got Talent.

In 1999 Boxcar Willie offered his theater for their show, which was renamed to the Dutton Family Theater in 2000 and purchased by the family in 2001. Since then the theater has been modernized with a renovated lobby, state of the art digital sound system, significantly upgraded heating and ventilation, and new stage flooring. Additionally, the family operates the Dutton Inn directly behind the theater and Abby’s Tourist Trap next to the theater on Highway 76.

To celebrate two decades as professional entertainers, all of the Duttons wanted to create a very special, high-energy anniversary show for their fans by bringing back the crowd favorites from over the past 20 years. From bluegrass to classical, country to rock ‘n roll, clogging to comedy, the show has been receiving rave reviews as one of the highest energy shows in Branson. The singing and dancing is literally non-stop in this highly choreographed extravaganza with a liberal sprinkling of humor. Look for such favorites as Splish-Splash, Mr. Sandman, Rocky Top, Cotton-Eyed Joe, This Little Light of Mine, Dueling Banjos, Vivaldi, I Saw the Light, a Beach Boys medley including Fun, Fun, Fun, Til Her Daddy Takes the T-Bird Away, Blue Moon, and much, much more.

Last year Ben Dutton created a comic sensation with his identical twin cousin from Spain, Julio. This year Julio auditions for a part in the show by bringing the missing musical ingredient to the stage – horns. But in this case, he doesn’t blow the horns, he wears them and fires up the audience with a unique rendition of the Julio Iglesias (his namesake) song “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before”.

This year, as part of the celebration, The Duttons have taken their show to several communities around the country in Texas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Utah, and Arizona among others. Most recently, they packed up the show and put it on board a Holland America cruise to Alaska. “Alaska was the last state in our country that we hadn’t performed in,” said Sheila Dutton. “What a great time for us to go there as part of our 20 years in entertainment!”

In honor of their 20th Anniversary show, the Duttons are offering tickets for this special show for a special box office rate of $20 + tax. For reservations and additional information, contact the Dutton Family Theater at (417) 332-2772 or (888) 388-8661, or visit www.TheDuttons.com.
