The White River Painting Exhibit will take place in Edwards Art Gallery Tuesday, Nov. 15th – Thursday, Dec. 15th, 2011. The museum hosts the annual exhibit to Celebrate our unique Ozarks heritage and to express the museum’s continued mission of providing rich learning experiences about Ozarks culture through the arts.
Dr. Wade Thompson will serve as this year’s juror. He is the Department Head of Art and Design in the College of Arts and Letters at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO.
Artists throughout the Ozarks region are invited to submit paintings that reflect their personal views of what is important to them about the Ozarks.
A limit of two paintings created over the past 2 years may be submitted at the Ralph Foster Museum from Tuesday, Nov. 1st thru Mon., Nov. 14th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The museum is closed on Sundays. The entry fee is $5.00 for each painting.
The Awards Presentation and a Gallery Talk for exhibit participants will take place Tuesday, Nov. 15th at 1:00PM in Edwards Art Gallery followed by the opening reception for family, friends, and the public from 2:00pm-4:30pm.
