BRANSON, MO – Folks who visit Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede during the Christmas season will be amazed by the unbelievable transformation. Opening Wednesday, October 24th, Christmas at Dixie Stampede converts the dinner and show into a beautiful holiday spectacular. From the festive show theme and the full-scale live nativity scene including camels, donkeys and sheep to the gorgeous decorations throughout the building and the warmth of traditional holiday music.

Back by popular demand this year, Dixie Stampede Dinner and Show adds a touch of grace to the holidays with a special performance by professional Adagio ice skaters, Alicia Cavanaugh & Michal Przyk.

Alicia is a USA triple gold medalist (singles, pairs & moves-in-the-field) and was a US National team member in 2001. She accepted her first professional contract in 2002 and since then Alicia has performed as a principal soloist around the world including shows such as Holiday on Ice, Festival on Ice and on board the Royal Caribbean Cruise line ships to name a few. Michal (known as Mikki) is from Poland and was a Polish National Dance competitor for several years. Mikki also toured with Holiday on Ice as a dance pair soloist and has also been featured in productions in the USA, Germany and throughout Eastern Western Europe. Combined, their style, grace and strength are becoming well known throughout the professional skating world. Alicia’s and Mikki’s goals for the future include seeing the world and entertaining audiences together for years to come!

“We wanted to give families more joyful entertainment during the Christmas season,” says owner, Dolly Parton. “The special effects like the ice skaters and live nativity scene really bring the holiday season to life. I can’t wait for folks to experience this year’s Christmas show – it’s going to be great.”

Christmas at Dixie features a seasonal twist with a friendly rivalry between the North and South Poles full of equestrian feats, graceful riders, and audience participation games like wreath tossing and a stick reindeer race. The 90-minute production is highlighted with ice skaters descending from the ceiling on a specially designed skating platform and gliding under the stars to a brisk holiday soundtrack.

Celebrating the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus is brought to life with Mary, Joseph, the wise men, and a living nativity of live camels, donkeys, and sheep. In addition, Santa himself makes an appearance in his sleigh, as Dixie’s 1100-seat arena is transformed into a winter wonderland of fresh fallen snow.

Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede is complimented by a holiday feast of a whole rotisserie chicken, hickory smoked barbecue pork loin, herb-basted potato, buttery corn on the cob, creamy vegetable soup, homemade biscuit, and an apple turnover for dessert.

Christmas at Dixie Stampede runs October 24th, 2006 through December 31st, 2007. One ticket price includes the Carriage Room pre-show, the main arena Christmas At Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show and a collector series Souvenir Boot Mug with a speciality soft drink.

Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction originated in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee in 1988, as Dolly’s premier dinner and show experience featuring horses, equestrian thrills and audience participation on a grand scale. The company has since added locations in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Branson, Missouri and Orlando, Florida.

For more information or reservations please call early, 1-800-520-5544, or visit the Dixie Stampede website at dixiestampede.com.

The American Presidents Museum, operated by the nonprofit educational organization the National Center for Presidential Studies, will partner with Target to create educational and fun programs designed to bring young visitors to the museum.

Grant monies will be used for educational development of programs, supplies for hands-on activities, and the addition of interactive displays within select exhibits, all under a program "Kids in the Museum."

"We couldn't be more pleased to have received national recognition from Target for our efforts," said Stormy Lynn Snow, executive director of the museum, and founder of the educational center. "Equally as important as their generous contribution of the $2,000 grant is the credibility this award gives our efforts."

The grant is part of ongoing efforts by Target to strengthen families and communities throughout the country. Since opening its doors, Target has given five percent of its income to organizations that support education, the arts and safe families and communities. Today that translates to $3 million every week.

"At Target, we are making a real difference every day through our grant-making program," said Laysha Ward, vice president, community relations, Target. "We're proud to partner with American Presidents Museum and the National Center for Presidential Studies as part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where our guests and team members live and work."

Having just celebrated is first year; the museum currently occupies temporary space at 2849 Gretna Road, in the former Majestic Steakhouse Building, while establishing a building fund to raise capital for a full educational center and museum campus.

"As a nonprofit educational center and museum, we rely heavily on grants and corporate donations for our funding. We hope that this is a stepping-stone to a long road of support from the community and businesses across Southwest Missouri," said Snow. "Our biggest challenge is finding a permanent home."

She quickly became an audience favorite and regular performer on the show. She toured with the Lawrence Welk Musicial Family and continues to perform in the United States and Mexico.

The Welk Stars Reunion 2007 marks only the second appearance for Anacani at the Welk Resort Theatre in Branson. He appeared frequently at the Welk Resort Theatre in Branson from 1994 through 2004 and today he continues to delight audiences with his energetic marimba playing and tap dancing.

With the absence of this exciting and anticipated attraction in Branson over the past two years, many rumors, online message boards and hopeful tourists kept the dream alive that someday, helicopter tours would return to Branson. Well, Ozark Mountain Helicopters has seen the need and is answering the call.

"We get calls every day from individuals who took a ride as a child, and can still remember the feeling and excitement of being up in a helicopter, and want to share that feeling with their children." "That's why I love what I do." Says Evertsen.

This business is unique in the fact that it involves two father/son teams. Jim, who has been flying Helicopters religiously for the past six years will function as Owner and Chief Pilot, while his son Casey assumes the responsibilities of the Director of Marketing and Public Relations.

The second father/son team consists of Lee and Shanon Christensen. With over 60 years of flight experience between the two, there is little these two have not seen or done in a helicopter.

To maximize the safety of their passengers, the Taney County Airport has been chosen as their base of operations. With its close proximity to Hwy 65 and Branson Landing, it is lacking the tall hotels, overhead wires, traffic lights and nearby obstructions that are not conducive to safe take offs and landings. The tours will take passengers over Branson Landing,Hwy 76, Table Rock Dam, Lake Taneycomo, Inspiration Tower and Silver Dollar City.
