American Kids

American Kids inc., a 33 year old entertainment organization is launching a search for kids who have an interest in entertainment. “We are establishing a show troupe in the Branson area”, said Dr. Dale Smith, the founder of the organization. “Dr. Dale”, as he is addressed by those who know him, is a retired music educator. He started this “little league” of entertainers in 1982 in Oklahoma. ” I have seen thousands from many states over the years, most of whom do not become entertainers any more than “little league” baseball players become pro ball players. They just become more confident citizens”, he continued. Dr. Dale reported that more than 40 kids and adults have become show cast members in Branson stage shows since he arrived in Branson in 1996. “While our purpose is more to help kids get past their fears than it is to develop entertainers, many have gone into show business because the individual worked hard to get there, including Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Brian White, Jandi Swanson, Kristin Chenowith, and Tina Cooper(Mrs. Clay Cooper)”, said the enthusiastic singer, songwriter.

The show troupe to be developed will present a positive message to include country, patriotic, gospel and 50’s classic music. The show(s) will be themed for any occasion much like the shows that American Kids produced for 10 years for Silver Dollar City. The shows will be costumed and choreographed and will include some dialogue designed to project a strong positive message to the viewers. Dr. Dale indicated that the troupe will perform for hospitals, nursing homes, fairs. festivals, military reunions and local city functions.

Open auditions for children 5 through 18 will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 3 o’clock at the Victorian Village, on Shepherd Of the Hills Expressway. Pre-registration can be affected by contacting [email protected]. You may call the American Kids office at 417-294-4881.

Please call with any questions. American Kids is a 501c3 organization.
